Business Services Group based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, has a requirement for a Senior Financial Accountant to support the annual audit process as the Group transitions to a new auditor firm in addition to supporting the production of the annual statutory accounts.
What will the interim Senior Financial Accountant role involve?
Reporting to the Group Head of Reporting, the key responsibilities will include:
- Support oversight of the external Group & UK Statutory audit fieldwork plan deliverables for each group entity;
- Review of audit information requests, directs the teams to deliver accurate, complete submissions, supporting with clarification and review as required;
- Coordination of teams and resources, arranging meetings to resolve any ambiguity;
- Support the teams in the submission of evidence samples and any explanations to auditors;
- Provide advice and technical assistance between R2R Leadership and external auditors on methods of correction of audit exceptions;
- Discuss overall audit findings and recommendations with management after the completion of each audit area, with the purpose of corroborating the factual accuracy of audit findings and obtaining their feedback in determining appropriate courses of action;
- Compilation of data and audit information for preparation of reports and records findings and analysis of information for future improvement areas.
Suitable Candidate for the interim Senior Financial Accountant vacancy:
- Applicants for the contract will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification with previous experience of undertaking a technical accounting role and managing an external audit within a large, complex group environment.

- The role will be offered on a 6 month contract basis with the successful applicant expected to attend the Portsmouth office 3 days a week and occasional travel to the London office.
