I m delighted to be supporting a Services based business with the recruitment of a Senior Financial Accountant to join their expanding Fund Accounting team. With a modern approach and big plans for growth and investment my client is in an enviable position in the local market.

We re looking for someone who either has experience as a Fund Accountant and looking to develop to the next step or has trained within practice and has since gained experience as a Financial or Reporting Accountant in a commercial business.

The role

As Senior Accountant within the Fund Accounting team your role will be to:

• To deliver a comprehensive first-class accounting service to a portfolio of private equity and real estate structures in line with the defined business activities.
• Helping to develop an internal Centre of Excellence for the wider Group and promoting a positive image with external clients.
• To assist with the supervision, management and development of a team of accountants
• To maintain and enhance client relationships on own portfolio.
• To deputise for the Manager during absence, and to support them when required to fulfil the team s roles and responsibilities.

About you

• You ll hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA) and ideally have experience of developing and coaching others.
• This role would suit someone who is looking to utilise their fund accounting experience in a new and exciting role as Senior with further opportunities to progress.
• Equally the role would suit a Financial or Reporting Accountant who has trained within practice and worked in a commercial business more recently.
• Experience of producing financial statements, management accounts and preparation of VAT returns is key .
• Experience in effective communication with clients with good rapport building skills is essential.
• A good knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP and a good understanding of other appropriate accounting standards is also required.
• As an individual you ll offer strong technical accounting skills, a flexible, team playing approach who has a desire to support and develop others and a keenness to progress.
