Role: Senior Internal Sales
Location: Hampshire
Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 (Dependent on experience)
The Role.
My client has been designing, manufacturing and distributing high quality, energy efficient lighting products since the company started over 30 years ago. They are proud in our "Made in Britain" capabilities out of their plant in Hampshire. They offer a vast range of internal and external luminaires for the commercial sector or can provide bespoke products to suit clients’ requirements.
The main focus of the role is:-
- Communicating with customers to understand their needs and requirements and identify sales opportunities.
- Answering customers’ questions, resolving their concerns and providing additional information via calls and emails
- Building up quotes with support from technical and production department as required
- Explaining the basic features of our range on the phone when requested.
- Processing orders on to Sage
- Chasing down old project quotes which are past their close initial date.
This position is a front-line role to the customer enquiries which come into the office, including more technical project requests, providing essential customer service excellence, fast response to customer queries include, able to deal with multiple enquires, prioritise and manage customer expectations within a demanding tight deadline.
- Creating product and project-based quotes, including system design and take-offs.
- Working with Technical department provide customers with solution design (driver /led board allocation).
- Ensure and track that the Internal Sales department respond to all enquiries in a timely manner.
- Processing of orders ensuring customer is updated on order progress as required.
- Ensure that the Internal Sales department Chase up with the customer all old Quotes and update status /timing on ACT CRM.
- Keeping ACT CRM up to date.
- Create basic /copying existing BOM and part no.’s as required on Sage.
- Liaise with all key departments (Purchasing, Credit control, Production, Design, technical, dispatch) to ensure order /enquiries are responded in a timely manner.
- Answer Incoming phone calls if Internal sales team are busy or unavailable.
- Putting orders onto the system.
- Raising proformas.
- Occasionally be available to attend client sites.
- Provide input into marketing on Website alterations/corrections as required.
- Producing reports from Sage as required.
- Liaise with suppliers on pricing and technical requirements with support of purchasing team as required.
- Represent Internal Sales in department managers meetings.
- Providing professional front facing response to all customers requirements.
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner.
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
- Work in accordance with the intentions and requirements of the Equal Opportunities policy.

- Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
