Job Opportunity: Senior IT Support Officer

Are you an experienced IT professional looking for your next challenge? We are a leading recruitment agency partnering with a prominent organisation in the heart of Manchester, seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Senior IT Support Officer.

Position Overview:

  • Job Title:Senior IT Support Officer
  • Location: Manchester
  • Contract: Temporary (up to 6 months)
  • Pay Rate: £270 per day

About the Role: As a Senior IT Support Officer, you will play a key role in providing second-line IT support to end-users. This involves managing complex technical issues, escalating third-line problems, and overseeing a small team of IT Support Officers. The role also encompasses hardware and software support, IT peripheral deployment, and maintaining a secure IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-line IT support, ensuring service desk tickets are resolved within service levels.
  • Manage a small team of IT Support Officers, including line management responsibilities.
  • Support and mentor first-line IT Support Officers, prioritizing and escalating issues as needed.
  • Develop knowledge-based articles and contribute to end-user training programs.
  • Monitor and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify security issues, resolve where possible, and escalate complex security concerns.
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Desk Manager to deliver an annual training program for end-users.
  • Stay updated on best practices in IT, contribute to audits, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in an IT-related subject or equivalent experience.
  • MCSE Certification or equivalent experience.
  • ITIL Foundation level certification.
  • Experience in a similar role supporting users over a multi-site environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge in end-user support, Microsoft 365, Windows 10, and AV systems.
  • Leadership skills and experience managing a team.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Flexibility in working environment and commitment to health and safety.

Desirable Skills:

  • M365 certification, VMware Certified Professional, or PRINCE 2.
  • CCNA certification.
  • Experience supporting VDI solutions, MS Dynamics, or SharePoint environments.
