Senior Lawyer LPI (Employment)
Grade A - £52,737 (National Framework) or £58,139 (London Framework - if you are London office based or homebased and live within the boundary of the M25). There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home.
Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: We can offer office based working from our Leeds or Stratford offices. We can also offer home working. However, there will be a requirement to attend the office once per month and also subject to business needs.

What you will bring…
To be considered as a Senior Lawyer, you will need:
- To be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, entitled to practise in England and Wales
- Post-qualification experience
- Experience of drafting written legal advice and legal documents with the ability to present complex information in an accessible format
- Advocacy skills and experience in the Tribunals
- A detailed theoretical and applied knowledge of the law and procedures governing employment law
- Strong management and leadership skills
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Lawyer, you will advise and support our organisation with matters of employment law.
Overseeing all employment law matters at CQC, you will manage a team of legal professionals, providing advice and leading on litigation and related work that arises out of HR and employment law matters.
You will also be involved in providing advice arising from our operational activities. This will include civil litigation, public law challenge (Judicial Review), First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal appeals, criminal prosecutions or inquest work.
Ensuring our decisions are legally robust, you will identify legal risks and work with Directorate teams to manage them appropriately.
