About the team

The Building Safety Team is responsible for delivering the government’s cladding remediation funds in London. London is in the midst of a housing crisis with many leaseholders living in unsafe homes and facing unaffordable remediation costs. Our objective is to make homes in London safe as quickly as possible and to protect leaseholders from exorbitant costs in the process.

About the role

A Senior Programme Officer in the Building Safety Team will lead on a portfolio of buildings, helping those responsible for the buildings access funding to remove unsafe cladding. This will involve supporting them through a rigorous application process including assessing submissions and making recommendations; managing milestones and grant payments; and monitoring progress of remediation works to ensure buildings are made safe as quickly as possible. You will also have opportunities to influence, change and improve existing processes, and work with central government.

What your day will look like

  • Engaging with project stakeholders – internally and externally.
  • Data management – ensuring records and reporting on your portfolio of buildings are accurate.
  • Sharing good practice with team members and presenting your projects.
  • Assessing applications and writing clear reports on the status of buildings in your portfolio.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Experience of programme or project management and control techniques.
  • Having a recognised project management qualification or proven experience in project/programme management.
  • An understanding of the housing, construction and building safety sector is desirable.
  • Experience of establishing and managing complex, and sometimes challenging, stakeholder relationships to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience of using strategic research and analytical skills to support and enable project and programme development, delivery, and evaluation.
