Autism Anglia is a well-established independent charity. We have opportunities available for Senior Support Workers on a full-time basis. Working from our Adult Residential Services based in Dereham, Norfolk.  The successful Senior Support Worker will assist people who are within the autistic spectrum. Enabling them to maximize their potential and develop life skills across multiple activities. The successful Senior Support Worker will work as part of a team to help those in your care. Helping them achieve their own life goals, through person-centred planning. This role is well suited to someone with previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, or Carer. Caring for Autistic individuals, or those with Learning Disabilities in a healthcare setting.  Autism Anglia offers an extensive induction on the commencement of employment. We are also dedicated to ongoing training and professional development.  Residential Services - Norfolk Autism Anglia's Residential Services accommodates individuals within the autistic spectrum, some with additional Learning Disabilities. The house is part of Autism Anglia’s Adult Services. Enabling all individuals to participate in various physical activities such as walking, swimming, shopping, and general socialising in the wider community.Senior Support Workers and the team, work towards enabling individuals to achieve their own life plans by developing life skills through a person-centred, strengths-based planning. This will include being actively involved in empowering them to make individual choices about their everyday living.  The role:Day-to-day responsibility for the running of the service, ensuring a high standard of delivery.Leading staff managers and allocating duties to ensure that all the people we support have their needs fully metTo actively promote the development of each individual using a holistic approach, which demonstrates, an understanding of their personal, physical, emotional, spiritual and developmental needs.Supporting the team leader with rota management and maintaining clear communicationEncouraging each individual person, we support to be as independent as possible recognising that emotional and practical support may be required Applications are welcome from Senior Support workers who:Ideally you will hold or are working towards your HSC Level 3Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Carer, preferably with Autism or Learning DisabilitiesPrevious experience in a similar roleAbility to identify needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals who may have communication needs.Experience in working with people with Autism and intensive behavioural support.Experienced with activity co-ordination, knowledge of opportunities in surrounding areasGood range of communication skillsExperience working within a health and social care environment To apply:If you have a genuine passion for supporting and uplifting others, your outstanding future at Autism Anglia could be moments away.
