Role Overview
The successful candidate will be involved in large scale residential development / investment transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to support the growth of the market leading team in delivering an exciting pipeline of transactional instructions across the development of Build to Rent (and specifically Multifamily). This opportunity will suit entrepreneurial individuals, highly motivated to develop a career within real estate capital markets. This is a burgeoning sector which offers the candidate the opportunity to grow as the sector does.
Key Responsibilities
• Support in the execution of major investment transactions including investor presentations and financial analysis.
• Research, analyse and present complex financial data and real estate due diligence.
• Produce supportive marketing materials and have a growing responsibility for discussing these with institutional investors.
• Build strong business relationships, both internally and externally.
• Identify and support in winning new mandates.
• Willingness to get involved in all aspects of the department and evidence good team working skills is a necessity.
Key Skills
The successful candidate is likely to have real estate investment transactional experience, and / or a knowledge base of residential investment or development, pricing methodologies and general market awareness.
In particular:
• Experience within the residential development or investment sectors including BTR (advantageous but not essential)
• Proven track record of working and transacting with institutional clients on existing investment and development opportunities) (Associate level)
• Strong analytical skills and Microsoft excel proficient.
• Interest in the emerging Build to Rent sector.
• Highly self-motivated / driven.
• Understands how wider macro-economic trends affect the markets we work in.
• Team player.
• Passion to deliver high standards of work and actively avoids complacency.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and timekeeping ability.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing and presentations.
• Highly inquisitive.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to quickly build rapport and long-standing relationships.
• Ability to work flexibly
• Degree/Masters Degree educated. Desired subjects: Economics, Finance, Property (2:1 minimum)
• Professional Qualifications (preferred, not essential) – RICS, CFA, ACA
Team Overview
An opportunity exists for a full time Senior Surveyor / Associate to join the market leading Residential Investment and Development team, focussing on investment into the Build to Rent development space. The candidate would be based in our head office at Margaret Street, W1 although regular travel across the UK and beyond is likely.
OCM has a remit to cover the Residential Investment (including Build to Rent), Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), Hotels, Healthcare and Senior Living sectors in the UK and Europe. Service lines cover transactions, financing, valuation and consultancy. It has been involved in the largest real estate transactions across its markets in recent years, advising on over £20bn of investments in the last three years alone.
