Senior Tax Associate

Our client is a unique practice within the West Midlands as they attend to the affairs of many high-profile individuals in the international entertainment industry and provide niche specialist advice in that sector. The successful candidate will be working directly with the Partners of the business and will be given the opportunity to work with some exciting clients.  Strong organisational skills are essential, and a great work ethic is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned client portfolio, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations and deadlines, and communicate tax reporting obligations effectively.
• Correspond with clients to address queries and obtain necessary information for annual filings, collaborating with internal teams (Accounts, Business Management & Payroll).
• Prepare complex UK tax returns accurately, analysing data and conveying tax implications to senior management or clients.
• Review and draft initial tax advisory work for individuals, supporting management with complex advisory tasks.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to junior staff, overseeing their work and managing deadlines effectively.
• Prioritise workload and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Participate in internal Tax Technical training sessions.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in a personal tax role, with exposure to Owner Managed Businesses.
• Completed ATT and CTA qualifications or willingness to pursue them, with on-the-job training and study support provided.
• Ability to grasp technical concepts and a passion for continuous learning and researching legislation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts concisely and accurately.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address client queries and escalate issues as needed.
• Effective under pressure and adept at meeting tight deadlines.
• Highly organised with a commitment to client responsiveness and willingness to go the extra mile to meet deadlines.
• Self-confident, personable, and proactive, with a drive to build and maintain strong client and team relationships.
• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work.
