Berry Recruitment are NOW hiring for a committed and experienced Shift Leader to work for a Production Company Banbury, Oxfordshire
As a Shift Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Injection Moulding Department of products while leading a team of production technicians.
Role:Shift Leader
Salary: £40,000
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Hours: 3 on, 3 off – 2 shifts – (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am)
Key Responsibilities of the Shift Leader role:
- Meets production requirements in accordance with forecasted demand levels.
- Has direct responsibility for the performance of assigned shift team while also ensuring that wastage is kept to a minimum.
- Ensures availability of materials to automated production line.
- Has responsibility for all stock transactions to ensure system accuracy.
- Conducts daily briefing sessions prior to shift start.
- Continuously reviews the manufacturing plan for optimal usage of operational labour.
- Provides a clear and concise handover to the next SHIFT LEADER ensuring priorities are captured and problems highlighted.
- Ensures that team and work areas are always in a safe condition, complying with statutory and Company Health and Safety Executive regulations.
- Manages and reports absence and sickness.
- Carries out disciplinary procedures in line with company policies.
- Manages daily/weekly payroll reporting for permanent and temporary staff in line with company policies.
- Coordinates with other departments in daily production meetings to meet production demands.
- Interacts with shop floor colleagues daily to resolve issues
About you:
- Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts
- Previous experience in a similar position within manufacturing/production
- Strongly analytical and able to display critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience and appreciation of organisation of shop floor work process and priorities.
- Technical expertise of injection moulding preferred but not essential.
