You'll have A QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 Diploma (or equivalent) with willingness to under level 3 and have working experience of regulatory standards for supported/residential living but above all you'll take personal responsibility for the quality of care and supporting vulnerable adults with a range of physical, mental and learning disabilities striving always to surpass expectations and do what is right by them.
This service in Horley supports 6 adults with autism and learning disabilities to live independently. The service currently operates two separate houses. The Shift Leader role comes with a competitive salary of up to £22,352. and some great benefits.
Your new job: As a Shift Leader your will provide support and guidance to your team members. You will be working as part of a friendly team, and a very supportive management team supporting vulnerable adults with a range of physical, mental and learning disabilities. You will play a vital part in providing the people the support with care to profoundly improve their quality of life, assisting people who are unable to live independently by offering them the practical help they need, as well as emotional support.
Responsibilities:
- Support people in achieving their goals and ambitions
- Lead shifts and assist with coaching and inducting of new staff to the service.
- Make a positive contribution to the lives of others
- Follow Health and Safety Guidelines & Procedures - Keeping yourself and others safe
- Write daily reports on activities, devise and update care plans and undertake risk assessments
- Observing the performance of other members of the shift team with a view to making adjustments to approach to work for that shift and reporting any issues or positive news to the manager.
- Addressing relevant routine performance issues with the individual(s) concerned.
- Assisting the Management Team with rota planning and staff cover arrangements and financial/money management.
