Kings Furlong Junior school is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and dedicated person to join our successful staff team. The position is ideal for someone with an interest in DIY who would like to use these skills to support the children and adults in our school.
You will play an important role in the smooth running of the schools, ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will be motivated, able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team, have a sense of humour, be pro-active and take pride in everything they do. They will assist the Site Manager to:
- maintain the whole site, grounds and buildings
- undertake key holding duties and take responsibility for security of the site
- supervise and assist, when required, the work of the school's cleaners and cover for colleagues' sickness/absence
- liaise and monitor contractors and visitors to the school site
- undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance and decorating
- work in a flexible manner for the needs of the children and the school
- take pride in helping to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, health and safety and maintenance of the school grounds
Due to the nature of the role there will be instances of lone working and manual handling, including the lifting of large and heavy items and some working at height. An induction program will be provided, and training will be available to support the successful applicant undertake their role and to comply with health and safety standards.
The post is Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year. The position currently is offered on a fixed term basis to 31/8/2024 and may be made permanent following a review of the position and the needs of the school.
