Our client, one of the UK's largest contractors is looking for an Operational Site Manager to help deliver crucial public sector works around Hampshire.
This position entails daily on-site monitoring and collaboration with supply chain partners. It does not involve line manager responsibilities or the need for control over materials and plant hire.
As a Site Manager, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Supporting project managers to ensure that the site meets health and safety standards, adheres to quality specifications, and follows inspection test plans.
- Overseeing day-to-day on-site activities, engaging with supply chain partners, and monitoring compliance with project schedules.
- Participating in early contractor involvement and scheme reviews for effective, efficient, and safe project delivery.
- Assisting in the appraisal of operational site documentation.
- Supporting the development of dynamic and efficient programs of works and monitoring the schedule performance of selected contractors.
- Ensuring works are completed as specified in the design documentation.
- Attending regular project meetings and effectively communicating project updates.
Governance / Compliance to the following:
- BMS Group Policy and Procedures.
- Quality Management using platforms such as BIM field 360.
- Telematics - Plant and vehicles
- Compliance with traffic management to NHSS 12D standards.
- Compliance with other required National Highways Sector Scheme standards.
- Compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme values.
Personal Qualities and Experience:
Individuals with proven operational delivery experience in the Highway Civils sector, capable of making informed decisions and assessments aligned with delivery expectations.
Minimum qualifications and skills:
- Full driving license.
- SMSTS
- NRSWA Supervisor.
- CSCS card.
- Computer literate, including Excel and mobile devices.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to oversee multiple project schedules.
Experience essential:
- Highway/Civil Construction.
- Construction, Design Management experience (CDM).
- Civil Engineering Contracting.
