Site Manager Position
Location: South West England – Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire
Contract Type:
- 12-month contract (£350-£400 per day, Outside IR35 + expenses)
- Permanent (£60,000-£65,000 per annum + expenses)
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate project activities, ensuring safety, health, and environmental compliance.
- Manage site and construction activities per contract, policies, and UK legislation.
- Hold regular progress meetings with subcontractors and address safety and environmental issues.
- Direct site team and subcontractors, ensuring efficient time management.
- Prepare and update weekly/monthly site programs.
- Communicate changes in contract scope to the project manager.
- Maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors through various communication channels.
- Update and manage the Project Risk Register.
- Ensure approved method statements and risk assessments are in place before work starts.
- Keep the site tidy and maintain all necessary documentation and training records.
- Liaise with clients and other contractors to avoid confusion about safety responsibilities.
- Submit monthly reports detailing site activities, accidents, and safety procedures.
- Maintain a site diary of daily activities, personnel, machinery, and visitors.
- Report serious injuries and regulatory notices according to contract and company policies.
- Foster good relations with neighbouring residents, businesses, and local authorities.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in construction management, ideally in the water sector.
- Training and experience in planning and programming.
- Engineering discipline qualification.
- Health and safety training.
- Membership in accredited organizations is advantageous.
- Management training.
