Site Operations Specialist
Salary - £37,470 - £42k (Depending on experience and suitability for the role)
Location - Reading / Basingstoke Area

AWE is seeking a Site Operations Control Specialist to join the team and support operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities:

• Recommend action to minimise the potential for any adverse impact on the safety or health of people, damage to the environment or undesirable impact on day-to-day operations.
  
• Provide information and recommend action to the Manager Site Operations Centre and the Duty Site Manager to enable planning for foreseeable threats from outside the Site that could affect the safe operation of the Aldermaston or Burghfield Sites.
  
• Ensure safe operations are always maintained by monitoring proposals and plans to carry out major work operations with the declared availability of the Companies Emergency Response and Support Resources, de-conflict where necessary.
  
• Ensure the appropriate risk and consequence analysis has been undertaken prior to operations being undertaken outside normal working hours.
  
• Obtain and maintain a record of all potentially hazardous operations and the day-to-day activities on site.
  
• Responsible to take action on activities occurring on or off the site which may require a strategic overview of de-confliction or which have the potential to be raised in the public domain or adversely affect business as usual.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that details of High Hazard work activities being planned and carried out during silent hours are available to the Resilience Community.
  
• Provide a record of all potentially hazardous operations and the day-to-day activities on site to the Emergency Response Community.
  
• Responsible for monitoring proposals and plans to carry out major work operations with the declared availability of the Companies Emergency Response and Support Resources and advise where appropriate.
  
• Review and maintain all Operations Centre work instructions ensuring they are fit for purpose
  
• The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs
  

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:

• A keen attention for detail and ability to analyse and interpret large data sets, summarise, and present back as management information (proficient in the use of MS Excel. PowerPoint)
  
• High organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  
• Comfortable to work with stakeholders of all levels, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  
• Ability to collate, assimilate, analyse, and distil data and summarise intelligently to support decision making and action resolution.
  
• A good knowledge of nuclear sitesand their operations, hazards andminimum manning requirementswould be desirable but is not essential.
  
• A good understanding of Operational Control systems and procedures
  
• Demonstrable analytical experience and prior experience of activity planning and risk.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate operational control and related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences, strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  
• High level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and otherwise sensitive matters professionally.
