Job description

Swyddogion Prosiect – Community Reconnections Cymru

Y Swydd

Diolch i ddyfarniad cyllid gan Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol, mae Deafblind UK yn cyflogi 2 swyddog amser llawn i gyflwyno prosiect  Community Reconnections Cymru am 3 blynedd, gan ddechrau ym mis Hydref 2022.

Mae ardal gyflwyno'r prosiect yn cwmpasu siroedd Abertawe, Castell-nedd Port Talbot, Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr, y Fro, Caerdydd a Chasnewydd. Rydym yn chwilio am swyddog ym mhob un o ardaloedd dwyrain a gorllewin y rhanbarth hwn.

Nod y prosiect yw cefnogi unigolion sydd â gwahanol raddau o nam ar eu golwg a'u clyw i ailgysylltu'n llwyddiannus â chyfleoedd cymunedol lleol, drwy ganolbwyntio ar eu heriau gyda hunanhyder, symudedd a hygyrchedd.

Nid yw'n hanfodol bod gennych wybodaeth flaenorol am golli synhwyrau ar gyfer y rolau hyn, gan y darperir hyfforddiant llawn. Mae’r gallu i gyfathrebu drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg yn ddymunol ond nid yw'n hanfodol.

Mae gan y rôl hon ran hanfodol i'w chwarae wrth gefnogi nod Deafblind UK o fynd i'r afael ag unigedd a hyrwyddo lles pobl ddall a byddar a galluogi ein haelodau i fyw bywydau annibynnol bodlon.

Byddai'r rôl yn addas i unigolyn trefnus sy'n mwynhau gweithio'n agos gydag unigolion yn ddyddiol ond sydd hefyd yn gallu datblygu a chyflwyno cynlluniau hirdymor.

Cysylltwch â ni i gael mwy o fanylion am y swydd - 0800 132320

Mae’r rôl hon yn 37.5 awr yr wythnos, o ddydd Llun i ddydd Gwener, am gyflog o £23,712 y flwyddyn. Byddwch hefyd yn cael lwfans gwyliau blynyddol hael a mynediad i'n system budd-daliadau staff, Perkbox. Mae’n gontract cyfnod penodol hyd at 29/09/2025.

Bydd angen i ymgeiswyr llwyddiannus allu teithio'n aml ledled eu hardaloedd gweithredol, yn ystod oriau gwaith. Gyrrwr car yn well.

Byddwn yn cyfweld ganol hwyr Ionawr 2024.

Y Cwmni

Rydym yn cefnogi pobl sydd wedi colli eu golwg a'u clyw sy'n effeithio ar eu mynediad at wybodaeth, symudedd a chyfathrebu. Rydym yn eu helpu i fyw gyda'u cyflwr ac i feithrin eu hyder a'u hannibyniaeth.

Mae dallfyddardod yn effeithio ar bawb mewn gwahanol ffyrdd. Efallai y bydd rhai pobl wedi colli eu golwg a'u clyw ychydig tra bydd eraill yn methu gweld na chlywed unrhyw beth. Gall fod yn ynysig ac unig ac arwain at broblemau iechyd meddwl - ond mae'n llawer mwy cyffredin nag y mae llawer o bobl yn sylweddoli. Mae tua 400,000 o bobl wedi’u heffeithio gan golli golwg a chlyw yn y DU.

Thanks to a funding award from The National Lottery Community Fund, Deafblind UK are employing 2 full-time officers to deliver the Community Reconnections Cymru project for 3 years.

The project delivery area covers the counties of Swansea, NPT, Bridgend, Vale, Cardiff and Newport. We are looking for an officer in each of the East and West areas of this region.

The project aims to support individuals with varying degrees of combined sight and hearing impairment to reconnect successfully with local community opportunities, by focusing on their challenges with self-confidence, mobility and accessibility.

It is not essential to have previous sensory loss knowledge for these roles, as full training will be provided. The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is preferred but not essential.

This role has a crucial part to play in supporting Deafblind UK’s aim to tackle isolation and promote well-being for deafblind people and to enable our members to live fulfilled independent lives.

The role would suit a well organised person who enjoys working closely with individuals on a daily basis but is also able to develop and deliver long-term plans.

Contact us for further details of the job role on 0800 132320.

This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at a salary of £23,712 p.a.  You will also get a generous annual leave allowance and access to our staff benefits system, Perkbox.  Fixed term contract to 29/09/2025.

Successful applicants will need to be able to travel frequently throughout their operational areas, during working hours. Car driver preferred.

We will be interviewing in late January 2024.

The Company

We support people who have combined sight and hearing loss which affects their access to information, mobility, and communication. We help them to live with their condition and to build their confidence and independence.

Deafblindness affects everyone in different ways. Some people might have mild sight and hearing loss whereas others can’t see or hear anything. It can be isolating and lonely and can lead to mental health issues - but it’s far more common than many people realise. Around 400,000 people are affected by sight and hearing loss in the UK.
