About the Role:
Eligo is delighted to be seeking a dynamic and innovative Software Developer to join our client's Organisation Development and Innovation team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving digital transformation initiatives within the organisation, supporting the implementation of cutting-edge software solutions, and enhancing online services for their stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new software solutions and digital opportunities through research and analysis.
- Develop, test, and implement software applications to meet the functional and technical requirements of the projects programme of work
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to champion agile technology and immersive technology with end-user design.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and upgrade of software applications supporting council operations and services.
- Integrate Microsoft 365 applications and solutions to meet the organisations business and operational needs.
- Support leadership in digitalisation, business development, and project management initiatives.
- Collaborate with service leads to maintain a sustainable online platform and web presence.
- Promote a culture of innovation and drive service improvement through digital initiatives.
- Ensure delivery of digital projects in line with project management processes, while identifying and managing risks.
- Support the on-going Digital Strategy and data analytics efforts.
- Monitor, review, and evaluate digital projects, suggesting improvements based on gathered information.
- Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, HTML/CSS, and Python.
- Proven experience in identifying and delivering innovative software solutions, implementing online platforms, and developing collaborative relationships.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 development tools and technologies.
Desirable Criteria:
- Working knowledge of Government Digital Service standards for user research, service design, and digital product design.
