Overview of the company: We are recruiting for a well-known law firm seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Solicitor/Legal Executive. The firm are committed to providing out clients with a expectational legal services and advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist on all aspects of professional deputyship matters from application to dealing with administration of the deputyship.
- Manage a caseload of professional and lay deputyship clients.
- Prepare and submit lay deputyship applications to the court of protection.
- prepare and submit professional deputyship applications, trustee application and interim/urgent applications to the court of protection.
- Provide advice regarding the court of protection to union clients via the free legal advice service.
- liaise with case managers, clients and their families.
- Conduct and manage all aspects of their caseload, including making appropriate decisions and using judgement.
- Work on other team members cases as required.
- Maintain a positive attitude and communicate confidently with clients and colleagues.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- contribute to the team's success and foster a collaborative work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Admitted Solicitor or Legal Executive, or equivalent
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- good numerical and file management skills
- competent in the use of Microsoft word and Outlook
- At least 3 years' experience of conduct of deputyship files
- Ability to empathize with client, work in a team and maintain reliability and discretion.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
- Knowledge of statutory duties relevant to Court of Protection and Deputyship files.
- Experience with Trauma-led Deputyship cases
- Experience working with electronic case management systems and trade unions
- Ability to provide a informal guidance to junior staff as required
- Understanding of the importance of developing and maintaining good client relations.
