Salary: Depending on experience, around £28,000 per annum. Accommodation available if needed.
Average Hours: 45-50 hours per week. Sunday and Monday off. Tuesday to Saturday: 9:30 am – 3:00 pm, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm.

Role Overview: As the Sous Chef at our client’s pub and restaurant in Alresford, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Head Chef:
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, including menu planning, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established standards.
Food Preparation and Presentation:
Prepare and cook dishes as directed by the Head Chef, ensuring that all food is cooked to perfection and presented attractively.
Monitor portion sizes and presentation to maintain consistency and meet customer expectations.
Kitchen Management:
Supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks and ensuring that they are completed efficiently and accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Menu Development and Cost Control:
Assist in the development of menus, offering creative input and suggesting new dishes to enhance the dining experience.
Monitor food costs and wastage, implementing measures to control expenses and maximize profitability.
Training and Development:
Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff, helping them develop their culinary skills and grow professionally.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and communication.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a pub or restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating delicious and innovative dishes.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
