Specialist Education Advisor - Flexibility Education Reform

This will be a high-profile role, drawing on the expertise, experience and leadership of the post holder to change the way NHS England maximises the value and impact of education and training. The post holder will build on existing collaborative relationships with the higher education system, NHS providers and system partners to develop models for high quality, innovative education and training. The flexibility programme is a key part of both the Enhancing Doctors Working Lives programme and NHSEs medical Education Reform programme delivering changes to training programmes through both policy (e.g. Out of Programme Pause), personal development time and recruitment processes. The Long Term Workforce Plan highlights the need to reform the development of the medical workforce, and these programmes are focussed on delivering that aim. The post holder will play a crucial role in ensuring the following performance metrics of the programme are achieved over the next 12-24 months. Delivery of OOP Pause, with proposals for reform of OOP by 2025, including step in and out of formal training programmes. Delivery of recruitment to LTFT post pilots for 2025 recruitment across 3-5 specialties and regions Guidance for assessment of skills and capabilities gained outside training programmes against curricula to speed progression through training by 2025 Delivery of pilots that increase access to training through flexibility of start date by 2025 Eligibility requirements Medical degree qualification and Royal College membership and a licence to practise Experience in the participation and delivery of formal medical training programmes and experienced educational leader Regional or National contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate education and training Strong Interpersonal communication, written and presentation skills and experience in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in the education and training system Experience in the development and delivery of innovative educational offers You can find further details about the job, organisational structure, recruitmentprofile, expected outcomes and benefits information in the attached Job Descriptionand other supporting documents.If you like what you have read and think you have the skills and experience, weneed then don't delay, apply today!
