Salary/Grade: £45,000 - £56,500

Location: Peterborough

About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

Key member of the IPSD Internal Controls team responsible for ensuring that Internal Controls assessment programs are effectively run, in order to keep the business safe from Financial Reporting Risk.  This role interacts with process owners in different business functions to champion internal controls and to provide education and training on internal controls processes.

What You Will Do:

• Supporting the testing process conducted by external Centre of Excellence by ensuring required test evidence is provided on a timely basis

• Leading the process of remedial action planning when control deficiencies are identified

• Liaising with business process owners to ensure control process documents remain up to date

• Testing of internal controls

• Training and support of process owners with respect to control requirements

• Reporting on the status of internal controls to senior management

• Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

• Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

Managing Multiple Priorities:

• Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

• Clarifies and handles multiple concurrent and diverse activities.

Problem Solving :

• Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. 

• Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.

Accounting:

• Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes. 

• Works with financial transactions and related documentation within the organization.
