UNISON is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to work within the Human Resource and Staff Development team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in ensuring the implementation of UNISON’s robust Staff Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices.
Key duties will include managing staff risk assessments, with a focus on effectively implementing the resultant outcomes. Additionally, the incumbent will spearhead accident reporting procedures and conduct regular reviews to evaluate and report on UNISON’s overall performance in Health and Safety matters.
Candidates for this role should possess an in-depth understanding of Health and Safety legislation, regulations, and best practices. An awareness of environmental considerations in the workplace and their intersection with Health and Safety issues will be invaluable. A prerequisite for the position is holding a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety qualification or an equivalent accreditation.
