Stock Assistant

Purpose of the Role

The Stockroom Team are responsible for ensuring all of our stock is processed efficiently and accurately to enable the Operations Team to quickly produce high quality products. As a Stockroom Assistant you will support both the stockroom and the pre-production by sorting deliveries, picking and processing stock and supporting with general stockroom duties.

We are recruiting multiple roles on various shift patterns:

8hr shift pattern (5x days per week)

12hr shift pattern (3x days per week)

All contracts are 37.5hrs per week

Key objective of the role:

· Quickly and accurately pick and process post and stock to ensure it can be used when needed by the Operations Team.

Key Requirements of the role include:

· Follow defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various processes to ensure jobs are picked and processes quickly and accurately.

· Receiving deliveries of goods and sorting and processing quickly and accurately.

· Use various digital platforms accurately to track jobs throughout their production journey.

· Investigate or flag instances where the process hasn’t gone quite right so that we can ensure the customer is still delighted with the service and product.

· Keep the stockroom and Operations areas clean and tidy to support a 5S environment.

· Comply with and maintain good standards of health and safety for self and others.

· Work with your peers and managers to flag any possible process improvements which could be implemented, applying a continuous improvement mindset.

· Participate in training exercises to continuously improve and develop your skills.

· Support the delivery of the wider Supply Chain & Operations Team KPIs even if this is outside of normal day to day activities.

· Contribute to the Supply Chain, Operations Team and the wider ZEISS business being a Great Place to Work by always displaying our core competencies and behaviours.

Must have:

· Ability to work on one of our available shift patterns

· Able to commute to Birmingham facility for all shifts.

Desirable:

· Previously worked in a process driven and fast paced environment (e.g. warehouse / production line / retail)

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Yearly bonus

Experience:

• retail/warehouse/hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
