SalaryWe are now recruiting for a retail manager with multi-site experience to join us as a Store Area Manager in the North East.
Our Area Managers lead and manage their team of store managers to achieve profitable growth throughout their store network.
The ideal candidate will already be confident with the work ethic and pace of retail and will demonstrate reliability and a professional and focused approach to store operations, as well as people management.
With excellent operational skills, the Store Area Manager have a proven track record of driving measureable performance improvements using practical techniques.
The appointed Area Manager will be required to complete the Home Bargains Field Management Training Programme. This is a comprehensive 13 week programme which is completed in the field, supported by the Regional Manager.
Job Overview- Agree and set achievable performance and development goals for your store management teams
- Proactively coach store managers to support them in achieving their personal and store goals
- Identify and manage risk, monitor talent development and progression
- Agree and prioritise action with them to mitigate poor performance, identify talent, review talent development and progression
- Spend 80% of your time proactively visiting your stores
- Identify and resolve problems that affect the customer experience
Minimum Criteria To Apply
- Extensive experience in managing and leading managers in a retail or hospitality chain environment
- Extensive experience in working in a fast-moving retail or hospitality environment
- Ability to organise and prioritise action
- Communicate and motivate others
- Lead and develop managers of multiple teams
- Effectively manage stakeholders
- Make commercially astute decisions
- Rapidly problem solve
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of store health and safety and security
- A full UK driving licence
- For fleet insurance requirements, be at least 25 years of age
- Computer proficient

Package- North East Area
- £51,500 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus the opportunity to earn a store performance related bonus (up to 10%)
