Strategic Education Lead for FamiliesFirst for Children Pathfinder Programme Education and Skills

Salary - £63,281 - £66,443 (grade 10)

Hours - 37 hours per week

Contract type - Fixed term/Secondment opportunity until March 2025

The City of Wolverhampton Council has been selected as one of three local authorities who are Wave 1 Pathfinders in response to the publication of Stable Homes Built on Love: The Department for Education’s bold and ambitious implementation strategy for change within children’s social care.  Children's social care: stable homes, built on love - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).  Alongside two other local authorities Wolverhampton will move into a ‘test and learn phase’ from January 2024 delivering services to children and their families in line with the FFCP design specification.   

As part of this, Wolverhampton have created this post to be the lead representative for Education as the fourth statutory safeguarding partner. The post holder will ensure representation of safeguarding across all education providers delivering services to children and young people from Wolverhampton, the Education Excellence Service and Children’s Services more widely.

The post holder will need to: - 

  • Have a knowledge of the different education providers across the city and the services they deliver. 
  • Provide support and challenge to education providers, ensuring safeguarding procedures meet statutory requirements in accordance with the FFCP programme in Wolverhampton.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance.  Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location.  Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location.  Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
