About Us:
Keeping our streets safe and our road users well-informed.
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local communities at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective, and efficient. Parking is a key concern for residents and businesses in this busy urban environment, and we rely on our team of Street Services Officers to keep things running smoothly when we have to suspend or restrict parking.
The Role:
This is a front-line customer service role where you’ll be out on the streets, placing and removing signage and notices related to parking and planning changes, and dealing with enquiries from residents and visitors. You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team but will usually work alone, responsible for checking on health and safety at each site, making sure all signage details are correct, and solving problems as they arise.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to be present within the borough 100% of your time, split between on-street and office-based working.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
We’re looking for people with excellent customer service and communication skills. You’ve possibly worked in retail, or another street-based, public-facing role. You must be capable of lifting and other manual tasks and be ready to work outdoors in all weather. A clean UK driving licence is essential, and you’ll need some basic IT skills.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
