STUDENT ENGAGEMENT WORKER
Location: HMP Bullingdon, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX25 1PZ
Hours:
24 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Up to £14,720 per annum (Subject to experience)

Milton Keynes College have a new vacancy for a Student Engagement Worker to join the education team based at HMP Bullingdon. The Student Engagement Worker will promote education to maximise the recruitment of students onto learning programmes and supporting their learning goals within the prison. In addition, you will be a point of contact for prospective and current students to ensure they attend and achieve their qualifications. You will be responsible for administrative processes, data entry and maintenance related to the learning experience, liaising with students and supporting their journey towards gaining higher education qualifications in a flexible way.
As a successful Student Engagement Worker, you will provide appropriate guidance to students when selecting courses and support the education allocation process by delivering a range of ICT/paper based initial and screening assessments. You will also be confident in promoting the benefits of education and be actively involved in all aspects of student recruitment and programme marketing, working in partnership with HMPPS and other agencies to develop and deliver support services for our learners.

ABOUT HMP BULLINGDON
Bullingdon Community Prison is situated near the village of Arncott in Bicester, Oxon. HMP Bullingdon is a complex prison that has a number of functions. It is categorized as a local category B prison which a category C resettlement function. HMP Bullingdon has the capacity to hold 1114 offenders all serving a range of sentences from remand to life, with the average length of stay between 3 and 6 months.
The College works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver short to medium courses that help prepare learners for employment upon release. Courses include: English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry 2 to Level 2), ICT, Cookery, Hospitality, Business, Self-Employment, Painting & Decorating, Horticulture, Paving, Mentoring and Barbering.
In the department we believe the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge will help our learners to end their offending behaviour. We engage the hardest to reach learners and encourage them to take pride in their own education and self-development.
