Job description
When you’re at the early stages of your career there’s a really tricky point where you think you can do the job, but you don’t have the experience to prove it, but your lack of experience means you can’t get the job, and if you can’t get the job you can’t show you can do it.
The career cycle begins!
In fashion it can be even worse, because if you haven’t had the right internship you may be overlooked for future roles. And your CV, because you’re at the start of your career, lacks any real substance or proof that you can do what you know you can, and all you really need is one perfect opportunity!
Which is why we’re very, very happy to be able to bring one amazing role with a truly world class Fashion Brand who want to recruit a person to start their career journey with them in the role of Studio Assistant.
Being a Studio Assistant here, will not only give you the proof that you can do the job but will open your career within fashion as you proceed, it’s a name on your CV that will show a real ‘wow’ factor and will undoubtedly increase your chances in your next move.
The role itself is a bit of a full-time whack-a-mole type affair with very little structure and a lot of putting out fires as and when they arise. You’ll work with one other person in a similar role reporting to the Head of Studio as they work to help put together the season’s collection, you’ll be running errands, working with the creative and design team, running upstairs and downstairs to get what they need, supporting the models as they come in for fittings and being a true right-hand-helper at what will be a stressful time.
To be considered you’ll need to have had some limited experience of working within a creative environment as this is going to be key to your long-term success not only in the role but as you progress into subsequent roles as it develops.
You’ll also have to be able to prove you have a genuine interest in fashion (at best) or the creative world (as a minimum) and this can’t be “I buy Vogue/GQ every month”.
If this sounds like the opening you’ve been craving, then please apply and we’ll do our absolute best to come back to you as soon as possible, but PLEASE be patient as we expect large application numbers and we want to ensure we are able to do the best and fairest review process possible prior to shortlisting and interviewing for this role.
