Condé Nast UK is looking for a Style Editor to join the editorial team of British GQ. Working from Condé Nast HQ in London, the ideal candidate will report to the Senior Style Editor and cover online reactive news, features and essays that reflect GQ’s global point of view. They will work closely with digital, print, production and audience development teams to spot emerging stories and trends, and help contribute to GQ’s online and offline growth. The right candidate will also be an ambassador for GQ at multiple events throughout the year, and be able to manage and nurture a wide network of press contacts.
The role is ideal for a self-starter who has a deep understanding of menswear in 2024, and someone who thrives on writing features that tell stories in a conversational, fun and engaging way. They should have some experience of writing for a major outlet, and be able to identify the junctions where menswear crosses with pop culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Senior Style Editor to coordinate local and global style content and initiatives
  • Possess digital-first editorial skills, strong connections within the fashion industry and a drive for directional men’s fashion and style storytelling
  • Write short and long-form editorial pieces that optimistically communicate GQ’s style outlook
  • Constantly ideate digital features and franchises that connect the style world with that of film, TV and culture
  • Collaborate with social, video and commerce teams as required on relevant projects
  • Contribute to team-wide initiatives at key tentpole moments for GQ
  • Update evergreen content in conjunction with wider SEO strategy
  • Act as brand ambassador for clients, and represent GQ at industry events
Primary Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience of 3+ years as an editor, journalist or a similar role from a style or culture writing background. Any experience with global brands will be a big plus
  • Strong digital-first editorial skills and demonstrated connections within the fashion industry
  • Creative and innovative storytelling skills
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience working with digital content management systems; proficiency with AirTable, Google Analytics, GSuite (InCopy is a plus)
  • Enthusiasm for GQ’s editorial point of view, and deep interest in exploring new and innovative opportunities for editorial growth
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at any given time
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
