SalaryWakefield Council are expanding its Early Years Team to support the Government’s childcare expansion of Early Years and Wraparound Care.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has great attention to detail to manage the collection and analysis of childcare data and the development of Wakefield’s annual Childcare Sufficiency Assessment (CSA) to ensure the Council meets its duties under the Childcare Act 2006.
You will support the Early Years Lead, using data collected from the CSA, to increase the number of childcare and wraparound places offered to working parents across the District. Supporting the team to deliver the childcare expansion capital grant and revenue funding which supports expansion of the wraparound care in schools and private settings.
The childcare expansion will need to provide a sustainable childcare market so you will need to advise childcare settings on business planning and financial modelling some knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage would be advantageous.
You will have a degree or equivalent in business studies and knowledge of the childcare market across the Wakefield district would be an advantage but not essential.
Good organisational skills are essential along with ICT and presentation skills. You will have a high level of personal skills to enable you to collaborate and communicate with a variety of people both internal and external to the Council to undertake your duties. The post has line management responsibilities of three members of staff.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS Application Form and be able to drive to undertake the duties of the post.
The post is temporary for 18 months in the first instance but may be expanded in the future.
