About the Programme

Our 10-week internship was created to support the next generation of talent in finding meaningful, structured professional development experiences, and defining their future within the insurance industry, no matter their background. We will be offering internships within the following business areas:

Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG), Business Change and Operations, IT, Claims, Capital Modelling and Legal

Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)

Working within our Environmental, Social & Governance team, you’ll be a pioneer for driving the delivery of our ESG strategy, which focuses on Climate Change, Investments and Human Capital.

As an ESG intern at Enstar, you’ll have the opportunity to support the development of our ESG strategy and delivery through conducting research, programme tracking and handling essential information.

We want to see your organisational skills from day one, as you’ll be coordinating with stakeholder requests and supporting the team to run our internal governance processes.

Business Change and Operations

Evaluate your career with Enstar’s Business Change and Operations internship. You’ll gain exposure to the end-to-end project lifestyle – starting from pipeline, initiation, planning and design all the way through to execution, closure, and benefits realisation. Collaborating with Project Managers, Business Analysts and various stakeholders across the business, you’ll be at the core of supporting the delivery of strategic and tactical change initiatives.

Step into the world of the London Insurance Market with Enstar’s Operations Internship. Learning about risks and controls, you’ll collaborate with SMEs to understand key processes and tasks performed across different portfolios. This internship provided you with the opportunity to get involved in initiatives aimed towards improving our operational efficiency with technology solutions such as AI and Alteryx.

IT

After your Enstar IT internship, you’ll have a broad understanding of the wide range of functions and roles within an IT department and the fundamentals of how IT supports and collaborates across the whole business. Offering you the opportunity to work alongside a variety of IT experts, you could find yourself working within rotations of:

· IT Service Desk

· IT Service Operations

· IT Performance Management

· IT Architecture

· IT Risk and Compliance

· IT Security

Claims

Kick-start your career in insurance and develop a breadth of experience within claims. Across Enstar’s Summer Internship Programme, you’ll gain exposure to how a claims function operates including working on projects in Underwriting, Reinsurance and Commutations.

You’ll be learning the ins and outs of how claims are managed by our experts but also by attending court to observe the settlements of claims.

Capital Modelling

Dive into the fundamentals of Enstar when you join our Capital Modelling and Management internship. Join our team of experts and gain valuable insight into the core elements of our capital modelling function. Day-to-day you could find yourself:

· Assisting with running sensitivity test on our capital models

· Investigating and remediating validation findings

· Supporting with data processing improvements and optimisation using Python, SQL and VBA.

Legal and Compliance

Our Legal internship offers you the opportunity to work within our legal, compliance and company secretarial teams. You could find yourself supporting on corporate and regulatory issues as well as research and reporting within our Legal team.

Working with our Compliance team, you could be supporting with reviewing and updating policy formats across the different functions of Advisory, Financial Crime and Assurance.

#DefineYourFuture with Enstar

Enstar is a global company with a diverse employee and customer base. Recognising diversity of thought and inclusion as a key driver to our success, we are working toward widening the participation of disadvantaged and under-represented groups in the insurance community.

Even if your background or experience doesn’t necessarily steer you towards a career in financial services or insurance, don’t let that determine your future.

We welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds, studying any degree discipline, although good numeracy and analytical skills would be an advantage. We want to hear from ambitious, passionate individuals who are keen to pursue their first steps on a career in the insurance industry, but most of all we want to hear from you if you’re...

· Curious

· Enjoy working in a team

· An innovative thinker

· Keen to grow and develop

Eligibility

You will need to have the right to work in the United Kingdom for the full duration of the programme and currently studying toward your undergraduate degree, in your penultimate year at university.

Responsibilities

During your 10-weeks with Enstar, you’ll participate in numerous experiences to help build your personal and professional skills. Our onboarding programme will provide you with an introduction to our business, an overview of the insurance industry and you’ll be aligned with an Enstar regional executive who will act as your mentor.

You’ll be involved in local activities with the opportunity to network with our global team. Examples of things you will be working on during the programme include:

· Participating in a two-day live insurance simulation

· Completing a self-reflection journal; giving you an opportunity to learn about yourself, the role, and the insurance industry

· “Is there a better way?”; a two-week challenge where you will identify a business/process issue, research and propose a solution to your mentor and manager

· Continuously developing your personal brand through sessions such as communication, time management, personal credibility and networking

· Taking part in virtual workshops to understand your working style, how to relate to others and how to communicate effectively

This is a full-time paid internship, primarily in-person in our London office but with the flexibility of working from home. By the time you have completed your internship, you will have developed skills to drive your future.
