THE ROLE - Full-time (37.5 hours per week) / Fixed-term until 31 July 2024 / Job description and application pack (including details on our benefits) are available to download from our website. Our mission is to help children and young people have a fair chance to be who they want to be . We do this by providing a safe home, increasing life skills and self-confidence, and improving emotional wellbeing and mental health. Our Eastbourne Services provide 24 hour supported accommodation for 60 young people at risk of homelessness across two sites. The team comprises of Support Project Workers, Night Workers and two Managers all working together to support young people, at a crucial stage in their lives, so they can fulfil their potential. As a Support Project Worker you will hold a caseload of residents, working with them to develop living skills such as cleaning, budgeting, managing behaviour, seeking and securing employment and making wise decisions, essentially building a support plan. In delivering the role, you will develop your working knowledge of psychological models to aid in creating and finding solutions with the young people in the service. You will work on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day. You will have a calm and personable manner and be able to handle potentially difficult situations. You will also support young people to safeguard themselves against abuse and risk. In addition, you will complete reports, create support plans and risk assessments. Based on site, this role is on a seven-day rolling rota, including weekends and bank holidays, with shifts of ; and . There is a small amount of lone working, but you will get to know the team and project, along with extensive training prior to starting on a rota.
