Homelessness Project Worker

£11.52

 

37.5 hours per week

We’re seeking an experienced Homelessness Project Worker to join our Felixstowe Homelessness Services Team covering sites across Buregate Road, Orford Road and Queens Road, where we house adults aged 18+. You may on occasion also cover shifts at our Young Peoples Service for 16-21 year olds. Our supported living service provides support to people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

 

At Sanctuary Supported Living, we are passionate about supporting people to live as independently as possible and to lead fulfilling lives. The primary focus of our services is to support customers in a range of areas including, finding employment, recovery from addiction and building stability through a range of social activities. 

 

A successful outcome is achieved when our customers can move on to suitable long-term accommodation appropriate to their needs.

 

Shifts will cover between 7.45am to 8.30pm on a rolling rota, including weekends and Bank Holidays

.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Being responsible for maintaining support plans for our customers so that they can develop the skills needed to live independently
  • Keeping customers files up to date, including completing daily notes and general administration tasks
  • Liaising with other health professionals such as Consultant Psychiatrists, Social Workers and GPs to help understand and support the needs of the customers
  • Helping the customer with daily tasks such as shopping, cooking, social networking and keeping their living quarters reasonably clean and tidy

 

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working with adults with mental health due to the current expectations in delivering a high quality support provision
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
  • Some knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
