Job description

Bank Project Worker

Anglesea Road, Ipswich

£11.52

Hours as and when required

Do you need flexibility in the days you work? Our bank roles (sometimes referred to as “relief roles” in other companies) mean that you will be able to choose from available shifts and have the benefits of a consistent workplace combined with opportunity to build positive relationships with the individuals we support. However, you aren’t guaranteed shifts every week as hours are worked as and when required.

We are looking for an experienced Bank Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our customers. Our service prides itself on supporting people as individuals to maintain a tenancy and build life skills, promoting respect, independence and self determination. We focus on peoples strengths, abilities and dreams for the future.

Anglesea Road is a purpose built hostel offering a mix of 18 flats and rooms to vulnerable young people. Our service supports people as individuals, to maintain a tenancy and build life skills, promoting respect, independence and self determination. We focus on people’s strengths, abilities and dreams for the future.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

Sanctuary also has a great employee Rewards scheme, where you will be able to receive a variety of discounts from major retailers.

This is an amazing opportunity to work in a positive environment with a dedicated team who value the individuals they support and make a difference in people’s lives every day.

  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting customers with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the customers and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and to react effectively under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential

Why work for us?

We’re united in working together to help customers on their pathways for independence, and our people are the single, biggest influence on our success.

No matter your job – delivering support directly or working in our offices to support our frontline teams – your work makes a difference every day.

We won the West Midlands Care Employer Award 2022-23, in recognition of our commitment to our staff and supporting our teams to be their best. We’ve also been awarded Investors in People Gold status for the second time – because we value our people and have a strong focus on inclusion, teamwork, and empowerment.

We’re committed to providing an inclusive and supportive work environment where you can grow and thrive. And like our customers, we know everyone is different, and we’ll support you to be your best self. We’ll develop your skills and experiences, celebrate success, and turn any setbacks into motivation.
