About the role:
We are looking for motivated, caring and compassionate people to join our team in Spilsby. You will be delivering care and support to enhance the independence skills of people with learning disabilities, whilst giving them choice and control over their own lives. As well as supporting in the day-to-day aspects of daily life, you will support people to pursue their interests.
We welcome applications from people who work in other areas of the care sector (such as elderly care) or those with no experience of care. Your previous experience is not as important as sharing our values and being able to demonstrate them, as well your desire to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
The role will involve:
· Supporting with activities such as swimming, biking, baking and trips to the cinema
· Organising leisure activities for the people you support
· Assisting and monitoring the people we support with their personal health and care needs
· Planning, purchasing and preparing meals
· Providing a caring environment following specific procedures as detailed in care plans, whilst maintaining respect and dignity
· The administration and recording of medication as per the medication system
· Informing the manager of any significant developments and /or difficulties within the care setting
· Arranging and accompanying individuals to doctors, dentists and some social appointments as necessary
About you:
· Good housekeeping skills including cooking, cleaning and budget management
· Able to remain patient in challenging situations and have an understanding approach towards the needs of individuals with learning difficulties
· Flexible approach to meeting peoples needs
· Willing to undertake personal care when required
· Basic IT skills
· Willing to complete in-house training and basic induction

You will be joining a 600 plus team of staff and volunteers who are working county wide in the Lincoln, Spilsby, Skegness, Louth, Alford, Mablethorpe, Beverley and Grimsby Areas.
