Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a part time Support Worker (Mental Health, Complex Needs and Learning Disabilities) on a permanent basis across two of our support housing schemes in St Albans, Milligan House, and Russet Drive.
Our St Albans schemes provide high quality support to people who have a history of mental illness and learning disabilities.
Milligan House provides mental health supported accommodation for up to 18 months whilst working with the local authority housing teams, local mental health services and mental health trusts. It has 8 bedrooms.
Russet Drive provides learning and physical disabilities supported accommodation, working with the local authority disability teams and service finders as well as other voluntary agencies. It has 7 self-contained flats.
Both schemes are not far away from the centre of St Albans, so close to local shops and transport links.
What we’re looking for:
- Have you got the life skills and experience it takes to support our customer in their journey towards independent living?
- Are you an enthusiastic Support Worker with a strong desire to work with diverse, vulnerable and complex people to achieve positive outcomes?
- Can you work just as effectively as part of a team as you can by yourself?
- Do you have great IT (Word//Excel) and communication skills with a knack for creating good professional working relationships?

A bit about the role:
As aSupport Worker (Supported Housing), you will work to support our customers in a collaborative way around a variety of needs including promoting their recovery, independent life skills, training and education, maximising their income, substance use and move on from our services within an 18-month period.
The working hours are 20 per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9AM to 5PM and there is no requirement to work evenings or weekends.

Supporting our customers to help them to develop life skills.
Working with our customers to promote social inclusion, independent living whilst encouraging them to build their skills and life choices.
To build trust and provide practical/emotional support to help our customers live independently.
This role will require an Enhanced DBS check, a UK driver’s licence, and access to a vehicle.
Interviews will be held week commencing the 27 May and 3 June.
