The Role:
M&G Real Estate are looking for Systems & Data Analyst to manage and analyse data to deliver business requirements and support and enhance our in-house MI tool - MiView platform.
M&G have recently completed the rollout of a global operating property management and accounting platform based on Yardi Voyager 7S. In order to optimise and consolidate data being managed on this platform, a global MI programme has been established that aims to introduce the governance required to establish reliable, accurate, consistent and timely data to support global analysis and reporting requirements.
We are seeking a professional with good knowledge of the Real Estate market, experience of data aggregation systems and good stakeholder management skills to work with colleagues across the business, in multiple regions and disciplines e.g., Business Analysts and Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- To act as the central data coordinator across all business areas, internal and external, which are involved in the maintenance and delivery of MI to the business in all regions.
- To define and agree global KPI definition and ensure understanding of regional differences.
- To define data requirements and data sources to support KPI calculations.
- To establish data governance, accountability and ownership around data and data management to ensure its reliability, accuracy, consistency and timeliness.
- To help define enhancements to the MI technical solution, such as new KPIs, reports and supporting processes, and liaise with the Business Solutions Team to manage their delivery.
Data Management:
- Manage 3rd party unit / lease data including data spot checks, follow-up, respond to queries, monitor issues.
- Support all M&G Asset Management teams globally in liaising with 3rd party Managing Agents in case of any data discrepancies.
- Work with the Client Reporting Team to ensure the setup is in line with Investor Reporting requirements.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Ensure this data is kept accurate in a timely fashion to ensure accurate reporting.
- Run Voyager property and entity attribute checks, customer (tenant) mapping and lease industry to identify missing values and work with the business to populate.
- Support M&G Property Research and Asset Management teams in resolving any PM-Valuer data mapping issues to ensure a consistent view of asset data across data source.
Centralised Data Controller:
- Manage and review data in Voyager tables and MiView KPI variance reports working with Asset Managers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage data entry input / imports of returns, financial, investment and debt related data.
- Complete periodic KPI and data integrity checks within MiView, i.e., a more ‘technical’ review of the application to ensure consistency of calculations across various KPI and reporting outputs (e.g., with the use of KPI variance reports).
Liaison with technical teams:
- Document new requirements and KPI calculations.
- Provide specs to the development team and complete testing of new KPIs and outputs.
- Advise the development teams on any updates required to MiView configuration.
- Work with the development team to identify any Voyager configuration changes that will require KPI calculation logic changes and work with M&G business teams on establishing consistent and correct mapping rules.
Business training and support:
- Provide MiView training sessions and support to all MiView users.
- Maintain MiView user documentation as well as Help screens within MiView to reflect any configuration / calculation rules changes.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of Yardi Voyager 7S product would be beneficial.
- Experience in similar data aggregation / MI roles, ideally in Real Estate
- High attention to detail to identify data discrepancies.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and partners.
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly, both in writing and verbally.
- Proactive and self-motivated – able to work on their own initiative within challenging timescales.
- Highly structured approach with strong analytical and documentation skills.
