What does this team do?
Our Tax Consulting business provides companies with tax advisory and compliance services, as well as transaction advice. We help our clients make the right decisions on all aspects of their tax with regards to their investments. You’ll have the opportunity to work within one of the following teams:
Ventures – Digital Tax Solutions: we design and create innovative products, services and experiences for our Tax and Legal business. Cutting-edge digital tax products and solutions that help transform our business and grow our revenue.
Global Investment & Innovation Incentives: we support our clients with tax incentives and grants, helping them apply for some of the UK’s premier innovation schemes.
We also have both a Software Engineering team, and an Engineering team:
Our Software Engineering team work with software engineers, computer scientists and developers at companies across many industry sectors. Our Engineering team is part of our global innovations network, where technical engineers, scientists and tax specialists work closely with companies across many industry sectors. supporting their R&D claims and grant applications.
What skills and academic qualifications do I need?
Ventures – Digital Tax Solutions: you’ll need to demonstrate an interest in, or a degree related to, developing products and software engineering.
Global Investment & Innovation Incentives – Software Engineering: you’ll hold, or be working towards, a degree within a Computer Science, Software Development/Software Engineering or related discipline. Related degree disciplines might include Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Cyber Security.
Global Investment & Innovation Incentives – Engineering: you’ll have achieved, or be working towards, a degree in an Engineering or Science related degree discipline. This programme is for university students who are doing well academically and want to test their skills in the real world.
We do have some minimum requirements for you to meet. You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in the above degree disciplines and have graduated by September 2024 for the Autumn 2024 intake.
What kind of work will I do?
Join our student programme within Tax Consulting & Engineering and you’ll get to work on the tax affairs of many high-profile companies across a range of sectors. We work with many of the world’s most influential businesses, from tech start-ups to public sector bodies; from FTSE 100 and Global 2000 multinational groups to charities. We’re sure you’ll recognise their names!
We also work with private clients of high net worth, including business owners, private equity firms or international clients. With knowledge about the latest technology developments, you’ll use your technical background to get to grips with a client’s R&D, patent claims and grant applications. Alternatively, you may support the building of cutting-edge software platforms within the Tax Technology area.

You’ll be fully supported with all the training you need, as well as invaluable help from team colleagues. Local, practical training sessions will help you build your network and advance your career. And you’ll be allocated a buddy to help you with your new role, as well as a coach who’ll offer career guidance and development. Within Tax Technology & Engineering, we’ll support your development so you can articulate your ideas clearly, and constructively challenge the status quo. If you join Digital Tax Solutions, you’ll also complete an internal learning programme designed to prepare you for promotion to Junior Engineer. Within Gi3 you’ll be given the opportunity to join training sessions alongside staff from our global network. You may also get the chance to study towards one or more of the following qualifications:
- The Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) qualification.
- CIMA Qualification.
