Here at Team Educate, we're currently in search of exceptional Teaching Assistants for a special school in Temple Balsall.
The role is tailor-made for individuals who possess a strong desire and heartfelt dedication to nurturing the potential of learners within the classroom. Teaching Assistant roles offer plenty of reward and challenge, especially if you're willing to put the energy and effort into forging strong relationships with the pupils in your care.
This role will involve supporting and working with primary pupils with a range of varying learning needs, including those with ASC, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ability to support pupils within their lessons by building and nurturing strong relationships will be essential, along with an understanding and reassuring nature. Many of the pupils in the school will have EHCPs and many are working significantly below the national average for attainment, so experience of supporting pupils academically and emotionally will help ensure success in the role. Experience in working with challenging behaviour will also be of benefit for this role.
The role of a Teaching Assistant:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play an integral role in providing tailored support to pupils, ensuring they receive the finest education and the tools needed for personal growth. Collaborating closely with class teachers, you'll contribute to fostering a supportive teaching environment, allowing each pupil to thrive in their lessons. You may work 1-to-1 with pupils with Specific Learning Difficulties (SPLD), provide small group intervention for pupils with additional needs, or support the teacher in tasks for the whole class. You may also be required to work with pupils outside of lessons to support their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
Successful Teaching Assistants will benefit from:
- A long-term placement with the opportunity to extend into the next academic year.
- Opportunities for personal and professional development.
- On-hand help from our team of in-house teaching professionals.
- The opportunity to have a demonstrable impact for the students you work with.
- The opportunity to work closely with and support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Successful Teaching Assistants should have:
- A proactive attitude coupled with a genuine passion for working with children.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to supporting students in their education.
- Previous experience of working with/supporting young learners with behavioural needs.
- Previous experience of, or an understanding of, supporting learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or a willingness to submit a new application.
We'll be keen to hear from Teaching Assistants who display the above attributes and a genuine desire to support the students in their care. We'd love to have a conversation with you about the positions we can offer and how we can support you in your career and your professional journey within education.
Submit your CV and we'll be sure to get in contact with you!
