The Service:
The Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) was established in 2016 and works collaboratively with colleagues in the Police, Housing, Health, Education, Youth Justice Services, and Probation in determining the most appropriate timely service delivery for children.
The Role:
You will be part of a group of Team Leaders based at Civic Offices in Portsmouth, overseeing and supporting the team's Social Workers, Early Help and Tier 2 Coordinators to ensure referred children and their families receive the right level of service and support at the right time and in a timely manner. You will offer scrutiny, oversight, and support to MASH staff to promote a creative and dynamic workforce committed to ever improving outcomes. You will lead through integrity, promoting equal access and having aspiration, and create positive working relationships across the multi-agency team, with other professionals and with children and their families.
What you'll need to succeed:
You need to:
- Have a Diploma/Degree/MSc in Social Work and be registered with Social Work England, with substantial post-qualification social work experience.
- Be skilled at recognising appropriate levels of decision making
- Have the ability to use statutory procedures and local standards/processes to inform good practice
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of legislation, practice and legal processes
- Be able to pass on learning to others and to present information to others (using PowerPoint)
- Have good organisational skills, communication skills, written skills, IT skills and analytical skills, and a healthy professional curiosity in your approach to MASH work.
Ideally you will be an experienced manager or an experienced social worker who has taken opportunities to supervise or develop colleagues or students and understands the value of social work intervention with very vulnerable children and their families.
You will need to demonstrate that you have the Right to Work in the UK. No post will be offered without it.
