Prior to this he was fit, healthy and a successful businessman. As a result of his Acquired Brain Injury (frontal lobe), his mobility has been affected - he is a full-time wheelchair user, and he is in the early stages of vascular dementia. Simon is a happy, engaging gentleman with a great sense of humour, a love of history, especially WW2, football, music, travel and walking his dog. With the help of his support team, he is living independently at home in Shoeburyness. His home is fully adapted to meet all his needs, including hoists etc.

The Care Team Leader will work contact hours with Simon, supporting him with all aspects of his ADLs, accessing the community, leisure activities, life admin, support whilst travelling (overseas and in the UK), diary management, maintenance of familial relationships, and assisting him to care for his dog. Shifts are typically 24 hours, and the role offers an excellent work/life balance for all the team. Simon appreciates his team greatly, and it shows, as members of his care team have worked with him for several years.
