What you will be doing

As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for transforming business requirements into a technical solution. This is the role that will bridge the gap between non-technical business facing teams and technical development teams.

You will form part of our core project scoping workflow, with your output being Jira tickets that the development teams can refine, estimate, and develop against. You will also be a subject matter expert on those projects, dealing with technical escalations and requirement-related questions related to the projects you work on.

Our tech stack is currently:

Frontend: TypeScript, NextJS

Backend: TypeScript, Fauna (NoSQL), Cloudflare Workers (effectively NodeJS)

Key Responsibilities

Essential qualifications, skills, competencies and experience

Conducting feasibility assessments on projects in the early phases.

Work with a business analyst to understand the business requirements of a project, and transform those into technical requirements.

Develop technical requirements into a full technical design/solution.

Ensure that all systems are secure and well-maintained by including your own requirements into projects and their design/solution.

Write detailed Jira tickets to enable the development teams to implement a technical design/solution.

Lead technical review sessions with the development teams to propose the technical solution, the business requirements for the project, and how the solution meets those requirements.

Handle technical escalations from the development teams, should questions arise around the technical solutions.

Support with high-level estimations of projects, to assist with project prioritisation. 

Ability to continuously adapt to new technologies, frameworks, ways of and working.

Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical people, both internal and external, at all levels of an organisation.

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to gather and assimilate information

Ability to produce and maintain technical documentation

Ability to work to tight deadlines, work well under pressure and have excellent prioritisation skills

Ability to motivate technical team members, and support them to deliver solutions of your own design.

At least 3 years in a software development role, ideally in a relevant tech stack.

Proven experience as a Technical Architect or equivalent role

Experience with networking or in the telecommunications industry is beneficial.

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related subject

Desirable qualifications, skills, competencies and experience

Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related subject
