We are currently looking for a Technical SpecialistElectrochemical Modellingwho will join a team of experienced battery experts developing innovative software solutions. The successful candidate will be developing and parameterising electrochemical and electrothermal models based on both lab and real-world data, empowering customers to extend the lifetime of their assets, improve their safety and maximise performance.
The Technical SpecialistElectrochemical Modellingwill:
- Support the development of model parameterisation algorithms using lab-based and field data.
- Propose, develop, and lead the implementation of novel model architectures designed to capture application-specific degradation and/or safety risks.
- Support the development of battery characterisation test procedures optimised for accurate and rapid electro-thermal-ageing model parameterisation, or robust model validation.
- Develop empirical, physics-based, and physics-informed Li-ion battery models to predict electrical behaviour and degradation.
- Evaluate and optimise model performance based on cell-in-the-loop validation tests.
The Technical SpecialistElectrochemical Modellingwill have:
- PhD in a relevant field (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Control Science or similar) or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years academic or industrial experience in mathematical modelling.
- Understanding of key degradation processes relevant to batteries.
- Experience in battery modelling, including reduced order and physics-based models.
- Experience using PyBaMM.
