Tefl English Language Teacher - Fixed Term Contracts Available

Westbourne Academy is recruiting professional and reliable EFL teachers. We are offering fixed term contracts of 26 weeks or more from now with the possibility of extending. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is keen to develop professionally whilst working in a busy UK British Council Accredited Language School.

Westbourne Academy is part of New City College which is part of group of government funded colleges in London. Teachers may teach Juniors aged 14-17 or adults aged 16+ from a mixture of countries and cultures. We also teach ESOL students living in the UK, as well as Ukrainian and Afghan refugees.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups
• Monitor progress and regularly provide feedback to help manage students’ performance throughout the course
• Contribute to the development, evaluation, and improvement of English language materials in order to meet students’ needs by actively working as a member of the teaching team.
• Complete teaching related administrative tasks.
• Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning.
• Participate in weekly CPD mini sessions and meetings, as well as training days at the end of every term.
• Ensure safeguarding, and that guidelines are applied and upheld in line with standards and policy for the following areas: child protection; equality, diversity and inclusion; and health and safety. WA is committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications: recognised EFL qualification required such as Cambridge CELTA/ DELTA or equivalent. Previous experience preferred.

Salary: Competitive Rates of Pay dependent on qualifications and experience.

Contract: 26 hours and 40 minutes per week Monday–Friday for a full-time teacher but opportunities for a part time contract of 13 hours and 20 minutes
