Pay Rate: Up to £14.16 per hour PAYE depending on experience


36.75 Monday – Sunday, shifts including weekends


This opening assignment is for 2-3 months

Week 2 - Mon - Wed, 08:00 - 20:15 = 36.75


Week 3 - Thurs - Sun, 08:00 - 20:15 = 49.00


Week 4 - Thurs - Sun, 20:00 - 08:15 = 49.00


Week 5 - Sat - Sun, 08:00 - 20:15 = 24.50


Week 6 - Cover week = 24.50


Week 7 - Mon - Friday, 12:00 - 20:15 = 41.25


Week 8 - Mon - Wed, 08:00 - 20:15 = 36.75


Week 9 - Thurs - Fri, 12:00 - 20:15, Sat - Sun, 08:00 - 20:15 = 41.00


Week 10 - Thurs - Sun, 20:00 - 08:15 = 49.00


Week 11 - Cover week = 24.50


Week 12 - Mon - Wed, 12:00 - 20:15 = 24.75


To facilitate the operational provision of safe, cost effective and client-centred Temporary Accommodation at the Centre within the framework of the Council’s Homelessness Strategy.


Key Responsibilities


  • Undertake the admission, interviewing and induction of service users on arrival
  • Maintain routine and confidential records
  • Conduct twice-daily welfare checks on service users
  • Oversee the maintenance and security of the property and ensure that all repairs are reported promptly
  • Undertake general domestic duties e.g. emergency cleaning, laundry and the provision and service of meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Resolve conflict in difficult and sensitive situations, adhering to council policy
  • Deal with emergency situations, involving management as required
  • Maintain discipline, following approved guidelines, including the eviction of service users following Council procedures
  • Undertake administrative processes including report writing and monitoring, and maintain accurate and up to date records using the Microsoft Office package and internal databases
  • Receive and process accommodation charges.

Qualifications:


  • Training in counselling techniques / mental health / substance use (desirable)


Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of housing related support
  • Knowledge of administrative processes including:
    • Report writing and monitoring
    • Maintaining accurate and up to date records using the Microsoft Office package and internal databases
    • Processing charges
  • Awareness of current issues affecting the homeless (desirable)


Experience:


  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Experience of working with vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviours
  • Experience in the delivery of housing related support


Skills & Abilities:


  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to deal with customers/service users/members of the public face to face/on the telephone/via e-mail/letter/verbally
  • Able to cope with emergencies and situations of conflict
  • Literate and numerate enough to perform the job tasks
