Endeavour Recruitment have an exciting opportunity to join our clients expanding Test department and make a significant impact on the delivery of high-quality products and systems to the Defence Industry. We're seeking a dedicated Test Engineer to join our clients team in either Portland, Dorset, or Chertsey, Surrey.
Job Purpose:
In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting our highly skilled engineering and manufacturing teams. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to influence design and apply a common testing approach across the company. We're looking for someone with experience in production testing and fault finding for electronic modules, units, systems, and spares to ensure the precision and reliability of our electronic components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform IPC level inspections of electronic assemblies before testing.
- Conduct production testing for newly manufactured modules, units, systems, and spares, including electrical safety testing, hardware/software/firmware configuration, and measurements using common test equipment.
- Analyze test failures, determine remedial actions, and provide feedback on test documentation discrepancies.
- Assist project teams on test requirements of products and systems.
- Design and construct bespoke jigs and harnesses.
- Collaborate with external test houses for third-party compliance testing.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and company health and safety requirements, including applying anti-static precautions in handling electronic assemblies.
Requirements:
- Accurate and methodical mentality with good attention to detail.
- Broad experience in using test equipment such as Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, Function Generators, PAT Testers, Digital Multimeters, and Power Supplies.
- Ability to maintain production test and reference facilities.
- Experience in problem-solving, fault finding, and repair down to component level for analogue, digital, and embedded designs.
- Capability to interpret design schematics and parts lists.
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing workload with a hands-on approach.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance and possess a full UK driving license.
