Test Engineer

Test Engineer within a small R&D department, set up and execute routine tests on different products in accordance with standardized testing methodologies and requirements. Document test results and update internal process/procedure documents and instructions for use in corrective measures. An individual contributor who performs tasks or activities using skills and techniques as well as practical understanding of concepts used in a field of technology. Responsibilities may include set-up, configuration, testing or maintenance of equipment, products, or systems.

Your responsibilities

• Sets up and executes routine tests for all types of products according to test plans in cooperation with operators, assistants, or other resources.
• Prepares test reports according to the applicable standard(s) for the tested product.
• Supports the planning and the implementation of test plans by coordinating the resources allocated.
• Coordinates the maintenance activities related to the equipment and tools used by the laboratory.
• Updates internal process/procedure documents and instructions.
• Participates as a team member and supports execution of routine tests for all types of products according to test plans in cooperation with Technicians or other resources.
• Cooperates with the other laboratory specialists to identify and recommend solutions related to product non-conformities.
• Follows existing health, safety and environment requirements in the laboratory and acts as an example for other professionals.
• Assists and supports the external certification inspectors during testing activities for ABB products or external customer products.
• Proposes improvements in the existing test set-up techniques, methods, and sequences based on experience and knowledge of new trends and equipment.

Your background

• Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or similar and minimum 3 years of experience in industry.
• Experience in a test environment.
• Methodical and process orientated.
• Good written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ISO17025.
• Experience in applying established international standards and test procedures.
• Experience in presenting demonstrations (desirable).
