Permanent (35 hour week)
Based in Haywards Heath (car owner required)
Hybrid working after introduction
Up to £25,000 per annum plus study support

Tony Alan Recruitment is currently recruiting an exciting new job opportunity for a Trainee Accounts Assistant to join a continuously growing business just outside the Haywards Heath area on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role will be to cover and support both purchase ledger and credit control. This role would suit someone looking to get into accounts and finance sector or looking for the next role to enhance the experience they already have.

Below are the key duties you will be exposed to:

• Input a high volume of invoices to system and file electronically accordingly
• Match and approve invoices against Purchase orders, obtain approval from other departments when required
• Respond to, investigate and resolve supplier and invoice queries
• Ensure supplier records are kept up date (changes to address, bank details, credit limits)
• Assist with weekly payment runs when required
• Ensure targets and objectives are achieved in accordance with appraisals
• Dealing with post, email or telephone queries/resolving issues for internal and external customers
• Invoice and bank reconciliations
• Reconciling documents, such as statements, analysing for discrepancies and finding solutions to complete processing to enable suppliers to be paid promptly
• Maintaining/Reviewing Customer and supplier master data

Key requirements:

• 6 -12 months accounting experience or evidence to pursue a career in accounts such as a relative subject at college / university, or working towards AAT
• Strong organisation and administration skills with good attention to detail
• Good computer literacy, with working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Confident telephone manner
