Accounts Assistant - Yeomans Group Worthing
Yeomans Limited is a successful, privately-owned motor retail business which operates thirty-three dealerships and represents eleven franchises. Several Yeomans dealerships are among the UK top performers in their respective franchises. Operating locations span the South coast of England from Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex to Helston in Cornwall and extend inland as far as Guildford, Farnham and Bridgwater.
Employing in the region of 800 personnel group wide, the company enjoys an annual turnover in excess of £500 million, retailing over 23,000 new & used vehicles. You will be based at the company’s Head Office in Worthing where the accounts team control a centralised set-up and also where the Managing Director and Finance Director are based.
Your role as Trainee Accounts Assistant will involve working closely as part of a team in the same office but also work with colleagues based at dealerships across the south coast. You will learn a range of accounts processing skills in the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger department, whilst studying for your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification. As you progress in the role you will take responsibility for various aspects of the Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger function and form an important part of the larger Accounts Department here at Yeomans House.
Key responsibilities are:
- To gain an understanding of basic accounting functions and to carry out tasks accurately whilst meeting company deadlines;
- Develop a working knowledge of several manufacturer IT systems to extract documents ready for processing daily;
- Liaise with trade customers, suppliers and dealership staff to resolve queries;
- Be available to travel to dealerships on occasions to help with vehicle or parts stock checks;
- Assist with payment processing and day-to-day office administration.
