Job overview
We are truly an integrated health and care Trust. In simple terms, that means that as well as the services we provide at our acute care hospitals (Epsom in Surrey and St Helier nearby in south west London) we work with local GP's, mental health services, community providers and local authorities, with the joint aim of preventing local people from becoming unwell, and when they do, that they receive the right care, in the right place, with the right support.
This role is a combination of administration, clinic organisation, clinical team and patient support. The role requires excellent organisation, coordination of multiple resources and administrative skills. You will need excellent interpersonal skills – to ensure accurate verbal and written communication with a wide range of healthcare staff both inside and outside of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The aim of this role is to ensure that the patient, clinicians, and all required information are in the appropriate place, with all the necessary clinic resources to enable same-day diagnoses and rapid treatment of patients to meet targets.
You will work with, coordinate and support the clinical team as well as work with a wider range of clinical and managerial staff to actively manage the patient through the clinical pathway. You will be responsible for facilitating and tracking the patient’s progress.
Working for our organisation
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.
We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Together with our colleagues at NHS Surrey and NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.
The Trust employs approximately 5,000 staff across its hospitals and is supported by over 500 volunteers.
